MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF ESPERANZA ESTATES

 Date: February 4, 2007

Time: 1:30 p.m.

Place: The Ramada at Esperanza Estates (Notice given as provided in the bylaws)

In Attendance: The full Board and about 25 homeowners

The meeting was brought to order by president Thomas Cooke. He stated the reason for the special meeting was to hear arguments for and against removal of a certain common area tree, located just east of 768 Ensalmo. It was requested that arguments not be cumulative of those previously given.

Jim Sage opened the discussion and gave his reasons why the tree should be removed. The floor was then opened to hear remarks from the balance of the Board and those residents in attendance. Various arguments were presented.

A motion was made that the tree be examined by a qualified botanist, or arborist to determine the viability of the tree, and if it should be removed. The motion passed unanimously.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:05 p.m.

Follow-up: An expert from the U of Arizona was located by Board member Joe McCalpine, who examined the tree and determined it should be removed. It was removed February 15th and 16, including grinding the stump out.
