A special meeting of the Board of Directors was called for April 7th, pursuant to notice as provided in the bylaws. The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm by President Thomas Cooke.

Board members present: Joe McCalpin, Barb McCalpin, Bruce Liljegren, Sam Barnard, Sandy Reed, Joan Moreaux, Bob Hunton and Stoney Brown

Purpose of the Meeting: Thomas Cooke advised that the purpose of the meeting was to hear the concerns of Leo and Mary Zehrer about a decision of the Board’s tree committee relative to a tree standing in a common area immediate south of 747 Circulo Napa. The Zehrers reside at 753 Circulo Napa, immediately to the west. The Zehrers had complained about the tree blocking their view in February, at which time the tree committee investigated and determined there was not sufficient reason to remove the tree. The Zehrers appealed the committee’s decision to the full Board; hence, this special meeting.

Two additional items were also discussed, being a refurbishment of the watering system at Sunset Park and reviewing bids for repair of the cool decking around the swimming pool, which has fallen into disrepair.

Discussion: The Zehrers presented a written statement as to their position in the matter, and answered questions proposed by the Board. They also had some photos to illustrate the degree the tree blocks the view of the mountains from their patio.

The matter was taken under advisement, and a formal decision will issue at the next regular Board meeting.

The water system and cool decking matters were also reviewed. Bids have been received on both. Upon motions duly made and seconded, the Board approved repair of the water system at a cost of approximately $300 (by the contractor Robert Ailworth), and for repair of the cool decking (by Ekonomy Pools), at a cost of $2730. The water system will be repaired on Friday, and the cool decking as soon as it can be scheduled with the contractor.
