Minutes of Annual Meeting

January 18, 2010

Green Valley, AZ

The 32nd Annual Meeting of the EEHOA was called to order at 1:00 PM by Thomas Cooke, President after he had determined that a quorum was present.

President Cooke recognized and welcomed new residents and those attending the Annual Meeting for the first time.

Minutes of the January 19, 2009 meeting were approved as presented.

The President introduced the Board members and also introduced the candidates nominated for the three (3) open Board seats. The nominees were: Sam Barnard, Steve Brown and Joe McCalpin.

The President called for nominations from the floor; hearing none, nominations were closed and the ballots were counted. Teller Ben Sheffield reported the ballot results as follows: Sam Barnard, 173 votes; Steve Brown, 172 votes; Joe McCalpin, 168.

Sam Barnard, Steve Brown and Joe McCalpin were declared elected to the Board of Directors. An organizational meeting for the new Board will follow immediately after the Annual Meeting.

Treasurer Joan Moreaux gave the Treasurer’s Report and answered questions. A copy of the Treasurer’s Report is on file with the Board of Directors.

Committee Reports:

Steve Brown reported on Maintenance & Operations improvements to common grounds.

Bob Hunton reported on Architect Control projects and he reminded residents that they need to consult the CC&R’s, Article 8.2 & 8.5; as it pertains to exterior painting and any alterations and/or additions to their homes. Plans for these items must be submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. Paint colors for homes can be found on the EE website.

Barbara McCalpin reported that Capital Projects had formed a Budget Committee to plan for future projects which will be of benefit to the residents of EE.

President Cooke reported that the Recreation Area was now being used approximately six days per week and he updated the residents on maintenance projects completed in the recreation areas. He also reported that the committee studying the replacement of the mail boxes and street lights had located a possible replacement for the street lights. He displayed one at the meeting.

Scottie Blum reported on Hospitality; outlining upcoming activities and thanked her many volunteers.

Tess Ewing reported on the Enhancement Committee; it was announced that there will be a Home Tour in EE on March 6, 2010.

Mary Beth Wallace reported on Neighborhood Watch; new volunteers have been added and volunteers are always needed. She asked that everyone keep their information updated, let someone know when you are going to be out of town and keep your medical information updated and on your refrigerator.

On behalf of the EEHOA, President Cooke presented Webmaster Craig Surprise with a plaque honoring him for his volunteer work on the Esperanza Estates Website and other computer projects. Craig then did a presentation of the EE Website, taking the residents on a visual tour and showing all the many items and the wealth of information contained on the Website.

Charl Petry asked for a volunteer who has a truck to assist her in picking up the Periodicos from the printers.

There being no further business, the President adjourned the meeting at 2:14 PM.
